Biography
Patty Riggle Bonner graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1978 with a Bachelor of Music Degree with an All-Level certification in music education. As a lifelong learner, she attends Texas Music Educators Association Convention regularly as well as Texas Choral Directors Association Convention where music education ideas are shared, and new trends in music education are explored.
Mrs. Bonner sings in her church choir and accompanies the youth choir which is directed by Dr. Gary Mabry, professor of music at UTSA. She smiles and says that each week is like a musical master class with Dr. Mabry.
In addition to teaching music here at EKHLA, Mrs. Bonner teaches early childhood music at Colonial Hills United Methodist School where last year she celebrated 20 years of sharing music with young children. Mrs. Bonner also teaches private piano. Prior to teaching at EKHLA, she taught music at the Eleanor Kolitz Academy and in North East ISD.
Mrs. Bonner is happily married to the love-of-her-life, Byrd, and they have two daughters, Caroline and Rosalie. Everyone sings! Mrs. Bonner believes that music is a joy to be shared.
